QCQ#6

Q: “sometimes praising a mother

who knew how to give, or forgiving a father

who couldn’t give what you wanted.”

C: This line really caught my attention because I felt like it was the one of the most honest lines of the poem. The poem was meant to be inspirational and, as such, used a lot of patriotic language. I thought that this line fit into the motive of the poem because it was inspirational without necessarily matching the tone of the other lines.

Q: How does this quote align with the rest of the poem, and what is the purpose of its inclusion?
