Spring24 Internship Week #6
This week I worked remotely on Monday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. I worked on assembling People on the Move, editing some of my articles that should be ready to run soon, and working on a guide.
Something very cool happened last week after I wrote my evidence post: I was asked to write a brief the following day. I have written short press releases and provided continuously updated breaking news articles but never written an official brief. It was so cool to come into the newsroom and be given a deadline for later that day, knowing I would walk out with a published article. Because this was breaking news, I even got to practice cold calling a person, versus a business, and scheduling a short, last-minute interview. I was able to hop on the phone with my contact, and in less than ten minutes, I had the information necessary to update my article.
