Poem 5 (Rhyming Poem)

I Can’t Be With You Fast Enough When I was a little girl I ran to my parents after school And when i was excited I would twirl I never felt like a fool Because expressing my love Was the top of my list, upmost and above And as I aged My expressions diminished  And my interactions became disengaged I was embarrassed by being childish I would rather die Than show my love to any guy Until one day I…

Your 18th Birthday That night the four of us Snuck out  under the full moon We visited the playground Which we are now too old To occupy during the day We each claimed a swing To fly closer to the moon A newton’s cradle formed As I looked across the night Each one of us Catching and pacing the other your old speaker Rests in the wood chips Sparking the air with  The sounds of Mac Miller And songs vibrant…

Brain matter spills out words  Like alphabet soup.  My mind squishes around ideas Ripping them from my head, I splatter them on to paper Etching my soul into every letter, Graphite begins to evolve.  Scribbled symbols inscripted with tenor scramble across my page I hang and drip  Like a fall deer Pooling thoughts beneath me Slaughtered piece by piece Until I have nothing left to give. I bind my book With leather torn from my skin And sign with the…

Poem #4

Sleek roads meld into black skys As curved as the wheel maneuvering them Headlights do little to bite the darkness But happily sear my eyes with every passing car The road eats away at my wheels  My car becomes nothing Just me and road Yet Something in the distance  Something road has hidden from me The outer curves of her hides  A figure My brake lights illuminate  My headlights flash onto  Him Standing in a pothole as if He had…

If you understand music, The long pitch of an accordion As a controlling force decides When it is allowed to contract and expand Screaming its ungodly tune – Then you understand a caught breath Stuck in the depths of your core Choking you out With no idea of when you can breath again Until suddenly the air releases  And in a loud burst  The howl escapes your lungs Only for you to compress again

For The Dreamer Dreamer,  The restless call you lazy, For your carefree innovation Mocks their labors. Don’t let their tedium persuade you; A world without imagination Is a world without. Dreamer,  laziness evades you Although your limbs may remain motionless Your mind is busy Constructing the world

Dream Poem

Dream Poem

A dream of addiction  Conquers my rest Images of a boy Flash through my senseless mind Even in my dreams I cannot escape  My love for him His worked hands holding my soft ones Brown eyes dance through my dreams And his smile flashes me awake I roll over to see him on my phone Smiling in his sleep Does he dream of me as well?

The Dark Web Gore splashes my screens and blue lights massacre my  Bloodshot eyes  My phone shows me whatever I want, One click away is grotesque grime. Filth illuminated in my fingers, Dripping from my mind, clotting and congealing in my brain. Deaths become movies Instead of funerals And hardened hearts photograph Blood stained sidewalks Without noticing the dying soul Next to the puddle. But, we are not allowed to critique The feed we fuel.

Little sister Her hair curls in ringlets of sun Shining bright from her head  She lights up the home Gaps highlight her sweet smile Like army soldiers late to roll call Missing Incisors leave her with a slur And at night she waits for a fairy to trade tired teeth for money The weight of life stalks behind her But she’s too fast to catch She wins every race And every game Yet as her sun begins to frizz And…

A Letter Poem

Hello world. My day has been good. How is your day going? Would you like to learn more about me? I’m an open book. I am a survivor of the Covid-19 pandemic. We wear masks every day. Standing 6 feet away from each other has become our pastime. Buildings close down. Panic sets in. Everyday more people have caught the disease. What has become of our world? Is there a cure yet? Have the schools reopened? I missed my senior…
