Over the past few weeks, I have continued to create social media content, posters, and banner ads for The Maine Monitor. I also drafted a social media posting schedule for November. Here is some of the content I have made recently: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DB9kU-TyMyD/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igsh=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== https://www.instagram.com/p/DCEnTv6xlT3/?img_index=1

Fall ’24 Internship Evidence #3

Over the last two weeks, I have generated a handful of posts for The Maine Monitor and published them across their social media platforms. Here are some examples: This is a video I created for the pop-up shop. The footage is from the Common Ground Fair: View this post on Instagram I also had the opportunity to get some internship hours while helping out with the hosting of Stripped for Parts: American Journalism on the Brink, a documentary screened on…

My first quote comes from Seelye’s Mourning Picture: “Who held onto her girlhood until Death stopped For her.” In the painting accompanying the poem, we can see two grieving parents. My first quote shapes the unseen child they were grieving for into a more tangible entity for readers. The second quote I will explore in this QCQ is: “I am Effie, visible and invisible, remembering and remembered,” from Rich’s Mourning Picture. In this quote, the poem gives the child a…

Recently, I have done quite a few various things for my internship with The Maine Monitor. One of my favorite things was getting to help table at The Common Ground Fair. S24 Internship Evidence Week #11

This week, I worked from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday and Thursday. On Monday, I had an article about houseplants published and began wrapping up a handful of articles. This Thursday, I have an interview for what will likely be the last article I write for the Press Herald during this internship. Once I’m done conducting that interview, I can finalize a few more pieces.

Spring 24 Internship Week #10

This week, my editor was kind enough to let me work remotely on Monday so that I could see the solar eclipse with my family. That being said, I still completed POTM and continued working on editing the TikTok I am making for them. This Thursday, I will be interviewing someone for a new article during the afternoon and then returning to the newsroom in the evening. In my free time, I continue to work on some local guides.

This week I worked in the newsroom from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday. During that time, I put together People on the Move and continued working on one of my guides. On Thursday, I worked remotely and at 3 p.m., went to an on-site location to film some content for the Press Herald’s TikTok.

Spring24 Internship Week #6

This week I worked remotely on Monday and Thursday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. I worked on assembling People on the Move, editing some of my articles that should be ready to run soon, and working on a guide. Something very cool happened last week after I wrote my evidence post: I was asked to write a brief the following day. I have written short press releases and provided continuously updated breaking news articles but never written…
